Surging Impact Factors mark winning year for ESR Journals

The European Society of Radiology (ESR) is excited to announce the 2025 Impact Factor (IF) for European RadiologyInsights into Imaging, and European Radiology Experimental.

European Radiology’s 2025 IF soared to 6.0 from last year’s 4.7, moving the flagship journal of the ESR from rank 27 to rank 22 within the category “Radiology, Nuclear Medicine & Medical Imaging”. European Radiology remains the highest placed ESR Journal and sits firmly in the Q1 of the category.

Insights into Imaging rose to an IF of 5.6 (IF 2024: 4.5), securing a very strong rank 24 (Q1) within the category.

Lastly, European Radiology Experimental, continued its increase of IF and now reached a score of 4.7 (IF 2024: 3.6), ranking as 35 (Q1) within the category.

The increase in the IF scores, coupled with the improved ranking of all three ESR journals, marks yet another outstanding year for the ESR Journals. It represents a truly impressive achievement that is a testament to all the continued dedication, expertise, and hard work of the Editorial Teams, whose efforts have been instrumental in strengthening the journals’ standing within the scientific community.

The ESR and its leadership would like to express their sincere gratitude to all authors, readers, reviewers, and Editorial Teams for their invaluable contributions and ongoing commitment. We look forward to building on this success and further strengthening the positions of our journals within the field of radiology!
