Vienna, Austria – May 21, 2026 – The European Society of Radiology is pleased to announce the incredible success of its joint session with the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) on May 16 at ESTRO 2026 in Stockholm, Sweden. The session, which focussed on the individualised treatment of primary rectal cancer, drew a full audience, highlighted the importance and investment in multidisciplinary collaboration to improve patient care.
Chaired by Rebecca Muirhead (UK), and Regina Beets-Tan (NL), the session saw three insightful talks and a panel discussion. Creating a balanced mix of approaches, speakers shared their personal experiences in developing treatment strategies, both from the perspective of radiation oncologists and surgical oncologists.
