ESR Support Programmes for ECR 2027
The European Society of Radiology is proud to offer exclusive support programmes to help early-career professionals and students participate in ECR 2027. To see if you qualify for a programme, please read below and follow the steps to apply.
Invest in the Youth
For ECR 2025, ESR offers 1000 places for young residents, radiographers in training and physicists undertaking their PhD.
Accepted applicants receive accommodation support of €300 and free congress registration.
Acceptance notifications will be made in December, and please be aware that previously paid registration fees are non-refundable.
The Invest in the Youth programme is a voluntary initiative funded by the European Society of Radiology (ESR), designed to support young professionals in their active participation in the European Congress of Radiology (ECR 2027).
Accepted applicants receive:
- Free congress registration for ECR 2027
- Accommodation support of €300

Eligibility
The programme is open to:
- Residents in radiology under the age of 35*
- Physicists undertaking PhD training under the age of 35*
- Radiographers in training under the age of 30*
*Age limits apply as of March 8, 2026.

Applications must be submitted via the ESR MyUser Area: www.myesr.org/investapplication
Required Documents
Applicants must upload:
- Passport/ID scan
Confirmation of training status from the department or hospital for the year 2026
Selection Criteria
Final selection is based on:
- Abstract acceptance
- Geographical representation
- Previous participation in the programme
The ESR reserves the right to allocate support based on predefined eligibility and selection criteria.

Shape your Skills
The ‘Shape your Skills’ programme is dedicated to radiographers in their professional careers.
The Shape your Skills programme is dedicated to radiographers in their professional careers. It supports 100 professionals. Accepted applicants receive accommodation support of €300 and free congress registration.
Acceptance notifications will be sent at the beginning of December 2026. Please note that previously paid registration fees are non-refundable.
Application Period
- Start: August 03,2026
- Deadline: September 30, 2026
Eligibility
Application is open to all radiographers:
- Who are active ESR members for 2026
- Who are submitters and presenting authors of an abstract (oral or poster) for ECR 2027
Application Procedure
Applicants must:
- Select the option “Shape your Skills Application” during abstract submission
- Submit proof of profession after abstract submission to: [email protected]
Decision notifications will be sent at the beginning of December 2026.
Student Abstract Submission
Student abstract submission is a programme offered by the European Society of Radiology for young undergraduate medical students to present their work at the ECR “European Congress of Radiology).
The Student Abstract Submission programme is offered by the European Society of Radiology for undergraduate medical students to present their work at ECR 2027 – European Congress of Radiology (HEALTHCARE REIMAGINED).
The 20 best abstract submitters will be invited to present their work at ECR 2027.
Selected students will receive free congress registration for ECR 2027 and a certificate after the congress.
Application Period

- Deadline: September 30,2026
Eligibility & Topics
Undergraduate students under the age of 30 are invited to submit their work.
During submission, students must select their preferred presentation format, including the dedicated student topic.
Topics include:
- My scientific paper in sustainability in everyday life
- My educational or social project at my university
- My scientific paper in the field of artificial intelligence (AI)
- My first scientific paper in imaging (general radiology)
